Time for a Change

Okay, here it is, my first blog post ☺

(Just a little history first so it makes more sense)

I own a small home business where I make and do many different types of things. From sewing, embroidery, spirit wear, vinyl cutting and even a make an occasional cake or two. I’m all over the place with my creativity! I absolutely love to create! There’s something so magical and rewarding for me to take a pile of fabric or miscellaneous things and turn them into something beautiful! Ahhh such bliss! My business didn’t start off with so many directions, it just snow balled and one thing led to another, to another, to another. You get the idea.

A year or so ago I had planned to finally get my website up and running (after a year of just sitting out there in cyber space, blank… and empty…) and I was desperately seeking a ‘new direction’ for my business. I wanted to ‘re-invent’ myself, simplify things, but wasn’t sure quite what that was or how I would go about it. I thought that I would use my blog as an avenue to gain insight on this new direction. Create something, blog about it in hopes to figure it out. But, here I am, over a year later and it’s still not up and running! Haha! But, I did write a few blog posts though in preparation for the website, and I still think my first blog topic is fitting for my first post here on Hope Daisy. I created this picture frame to publish along with that first blog post for my ‘new business website’.

There was a reason God didn’t allow me to get my business website up and running. His plans for me are something completely different and my obedience in Him has allowed me to see His plan for me un-fold. Don’t get me wrong, I am still seeking His direction for my business. I just have a feeling it’s not at all what I thought it may be ☺

So often we forget that God is in control and we think we can handle our own life. This is not God’s desire for us! He wants us to rely on Him. As I shared in My Story, my hope and trust is in Him. I wouldn’t be able to wake up each morning and face the day without praying first (actually I’m in constant prayer). It would so be easy for fear to set in, thoughts to get out of control and quickly head to an unhappy place, or in an unhealthy direction. Prayer is where it all starts. Through prayer we find hope, strength, and direction from God. Prayer is where change begins. We may not always like His response, it may not always be the answer we are hoping for, or perhaps God’s timing is not in line with ours. Sometimes, what we want is not at all what God has planned for us. He uses prayer to speak to us, change our heart, or lead us in a different direction. A direction that lines up with His plan. We are not equipped to handle this thing called life without Him, without prayer. So, if you’re thinking about it more than you’re praying about it, then it’s time to make a change.

I encourage you to let go, and let God. Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Blessings!

This blog is awesome Pamela! You are the most amazing person I know. You and your family’s faith, compassion, and strength are an inspiration to all. I am so happy you started this because you have a gift to inspire others. Reading your blog reminds me of St. Theresa’s Prayer:

    Saint Theresa’s Prayer

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.

Let this Presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us. Amen.
    Love you ! Kristy
