I started off with a completely different blog post in mind for today. Gotta love God’s intervention! I will save my idea for next time ☺

Actually, I was struggling to even post my idea this week. It’s been a long week. My baby girl had a round of chemo this week which caused her to be sick. Plus, I’m leaving for an out of town trip (girls weekend with my beautiful mom, aunt and cousins) so I am preparing for that. Not to mention sleep deprived, the weather is cold and rainy. Not exactly a good combination for blog posting ☺

But…It was during my quiet time this morning that this topic came to my mind and I just had to share! It has been a rough past few days. More like a rough week. It’s tough to watch your child not feel well and go through this awful cancer journey!! So naturally my heart is heavy. I kept saying these words to myself throughout my quiet time “I will praise you in this storm.” It immediately led me to think about the song by Casting Crowns ‘Praise You In This Storm.’ Such a beautiful song!!

I then started thinking about how people don’t praise God through their storm. It’s easy for people to lay down their burdens, their desires, their struggles before Him, but how many people really praise Him during these difficult times? Fear, doubt, worry creep in and… out goes the praise! Even in the midst of ‘this storm’ my family is in, trusting God and trusting in His plan have never been a question for us. It’s through trusting Him that we praise Him!

The lyrics of this song resonate so deep within me. Here they are:

I especially love the verse that talks about just when our thunder rolls we can barely hear Him whisper through the rain “I’m with you.” Ahhh what a promise! What a beautiful promise!! God is with us through the storm! That is all the promise I need to praise Him, trust Him, trust His plan. I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I do know the One who holds tomorrow.

My quiet time with God today left me with a fresh outlook. An outlook that has filled me with hope and has given me a new strength to face whatever today holds for me. And “Lord, I will praise you in this storm.”

I want to encourage you to remember to always praise God in your storm. I promise He is with you.
